This Blog was about the pregnancy of Garrett and then things got a little crazy! Garrett is now 1 1/2 and I am attempting to Blog about our Family now!
As the summer comes to an end and I find myself freaking out about the cold months to come and just how it sucks to be in the indoors with a toddler we are spending every waking moment outside. Luckily we have a big backyard and tons of parks to go to...this is what we do most often.
Ryan and I are spending other free time (Garrett's non wakeful times) working on the house and yard...an endless task but at the same time is enjoyable. Ryan is loving the fact that he gets to see Garrett much more due to his job being so close to our house.
For Halloween this weekend Garrett is going to be a Lion (a rental from his niece/nephew). He wore it this weekend at his Grandma and PePa's House in Kinmundy. I will try and post pictures soon. He had a great time there playing with his cousins, on the tractors and with the Goats and Chickens (hilarious to watch).
Hope I can keep up with the blogging...I think this is a good start! Loving the weather and hoping it never ends. -Jen

This is it!
As most of you may already know I am still a baby that is breech. I am now at 38 weeks old and will be a day shy of 39 weeks on my birthday. I will be arriving via c-section tomorrow, Wed. April 22nd at approximately 12:30 p.m. at St. John's Mercy Hospital. Mommy, Daddy and I are all excited, a little nervous and anxious!
Thank you everyone for all your love, support, thoughts and prayers.

At 35 Weeks...
Sat. March 21st, I had another fun filled party and got a ton more cool stuff! Mommy and Daddy were way excited to say the least! I hope there is still room for me in my nursery when I arrive.
Thank you Aunt Theresa for hosting the event and to everyone who helped out, it turned out fabulous. A few pictures of the event were added for your viewing entertainment.
Mom has been to the doc twice now since the last blog was written, now we have to go every week since it is getting closer. Mom found out on Thursday last that I am breech, still time for me to do what they want me to do but I am undecided due to my comfort level at this time! We will have to see what I decide. Doc says we will do another ultrasound on Thursday, April 2nd to check out the scenario.
One last big event happened this past week and it is that Mommy and Daddy completed there 6 week baby course. Congrats to the graduates, now hopefully I will be in more baby educated hands!

LOTS OF MONKEY BUSINESS!
That is just what went on at my very first party...my baby shower. My Aunt Romie put the shindig on and it was a blast! Thanks Auntie Romie! I got lots of Awesome items and thank everyone for their generosity and attendance! Thank you thank you thank you. :) Attached are some pictures from this special day, check 'em out!
I have another party on Sat. at my Aunt Theresa's and I can not wait!

2 More Months To Go...
In the last month Mommy has had a few doc visits and all is going well so he says. At one of her visits Mommy got a bunch of 3-D pictures taken, however she has not added them to my blog. She will work on this cause there are some pretty cool pictures of me that everyone must see. Mommy has gained about 20 pounds now and is starting to be very uncomfortable due to me getting so big! Mommy is resting a lot lately as she is super tired. I think she is getting excited and anxious to meet me...me too!
As for my room to be, my parents have my room almost ready but not quite completed. Someone needs to get my bed setup still and get my window treatments out of the box and up in the window so I can sleep oh so soundly! I can't wait to have all my cool monkey garb all over the room. Monkeys make me happy and I love the colors green and brown. Mom and Dad really read my mind when they picked this color scheme and theme.
Some cool family news is that everyone found out that my cousin who is due around the same time as me is going to be a girl! She is to remain nameless for the time being, still I can't wait to meet her so we can play together all the time and drink lots of milk.
Mommy and Daddy started taking classes at the hospital to learn how to better take care of me. They have completed 2 classes and have 4 more to go. They like the classes okay for now and they are on Monday nights from 6:30-9:30.
Well Mommy and I are hungry so I will catch up with you later,

New Due Date
Mommy went to the doctor on the 8th and doc. moved my expected delivery date to April 30th, however I am not sure if I will arrive on this date or not, I am very indecisive. Our next appointment is on Feb. 5th.
Last week Mommy registered us at St. John's, where I plan on being born. She and Daddy also registered for a class at St. John's that starts in Feb, the class will teach Mommy and Daddy about my birth, taking care of me and feeding me.
As far as my nursery goes, Mommy and Daddy have purchased my furniture, but not all of it has arrived yet. Daddy is still working on the wall in my nursery so soon as that gets completed we are ready to roll. About a week ago, Aunt Ann gave Mommy and Daddy a ton of cool stuff from my cousins that I will get to use too. Thank you Taylors! Mommy started to register for me online at Babies-R-Us, but after being in the store this weekend she may have to revamp her list.

I am a BOY!
Mommy and Daddy found out on December 23rd that I am a boy, my name is Garrett William Shirley. While the tech was taking pictures of me that day, they not only discovered that I am a boy but that I am growing and developing on schedule. I tried to be really funny while I was on film by throwing my hands around a whole bunch and then crossing my ankles as my daddy does when he is relaxing. I have been moving around now for a couple weeks but just lately I have become a lot more active and now mommy and daddy both have felt me moving. Daddy says that I am most likely taking after mommy with all my moving about, he claims if I was taking after him I would be sleeping a lot more and not moving about as much.
With the help from a lot of family, mostly my Uncle Willie and Jason, mommy and daddy's basement is completed. I can't wait to roll around on that soft carpet and climb up and down those stairs like my cousins Grace and Graham have tested out for me already! In addition, Daddy and my Papa Reimer have worked hard and nearly completed building my new wall to my nursery. Thanks to everyone for all your hard work I know it will make our home a most comfy living space for mommy, daddy and me.
Mommy goes to the doctor again on January 8th and is still feeling good, aside from the few aches and pains from me growing. I will keep you posted after her next appointment.
